Meet Minnie!

Luke and I adopted this absolutely adorable little lady one month ago (thanks City Dogs Rescue!) and she has since become our furry best friend.

I always have been and always will be a dog person. I’ve wanted a dog of my own pretty much since I moved out of my parents’ house and left Scout behind, so when our apartment changed the pet policy allowing us to get a dog Luke and I were on PetFinder ASAP. After a few weeks of scouring different rescue organizations and bookmarking countless dogs we came across this picture, and were both instantly in love.

We filled out an application and tried not to get too excited. After going through all of the requirements we had a date set to meet Minnie and take her home from an adoption event. We we were both ridiculously excited and nervous and excited in the hours leading up to the event. We distractedly bought everything we could imagine we would need at PetSmart and could barely eat lunch before making our way to pick up her up!

Having Minnie this past month has seriously been amazing. We lucked out so much, she hasn’t had any accidents in the house and loves every person she meets! While we are still working on mouthing and her reactivity towards other dogs things have been going very smoothly so far.

Minnie LOVES toys, chewing, tug of war, fetch, you name it and she does it, including destroying… for such a small dog she can do some serious damage on even toys designed for vigorous chewers.
